Every day this week we will be following a different theme to promote different aspects of enjoying a happy, healthy, active and safe life in later years.
Today we are celebrating and showcasing services in Wyre Forest which can help you keep active in later years.
Back to uni for Active Ageing
The University of Worcester offers an Active Ageing programme which aims to promote the benefits of physical activity whatever our age.
The Active Ageing programme includes lots of sessions you can join in to increase your physical activity.
Activities range from badminton and netball to keep fit, circuits and seated exercise classes. Check out the university's weekly programme.
Wyre Forest Dial-a-Ride provides door to door transport to and from any address within Wyre Forest for those who have difficulty using public transport.
The service helps many people attend medical appointments, get to shops and meet up for social events.
During the pandemic the service has continued to operate obvserving social distancing guidelines and with a more rigorous cleaning and disinfecting regime.
Simply Limitless is a health and wellbeing charity that is based in a former carpet factory in Kidderminster which offers a range of services and activities for people of all ages.
Services for older people include walking football sessions for over 50s,
The centre also hosts fun Megamover fitness classes for the over 60s in a friendly non-competitive atmosphere for those with low mobility.
