Positive ageing

As the number of older people in society increases the construct of ageing is being revisited. Getting older should be seen as a time of opportunity with society and communities benefiting from the skills, generosity, and experience of older people.

In Worcestershire partners from across health, social care, voluntary, and community and charity organisations have come together to devise a special programme, the Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE).

They have produced a five year strategy which aims to improve the experience of ageing across Worcestershire, making the most efficient use of resources and ensuring the best possible outcomes for older people and their informal and formal carers.
