Older people's showcase day 1: feeling good
Every day this week we will be following a different theme to promote different aspects of enjoying a happy, healthy, active and safe life in later years. We're starting the week with the theme "Feeling good".
We have lots of ideas and information about services available in Wyre Forest to help keep you feeling good.

Get Onside for a happier healthier you!
Onside is a charity established in 1993 based on the belief that everyone has the right to be valued and treated in a just and fair manner.
The charity currently works across Worcestershire & Herefordshire, providing a wide range of support services to ensure fairness and equality for people who may be vulnerable, disadvantaged or discriminated against.
Onside provides a range of services across many areas, including a special lifestyle advice. Onside Lifestyle Advisors can help you make small changes in your life that can make a big difference. This free service provides one to one and group support for people aged 16 and above.
It includes practical tips, advice and support to help you become more active, eat more healthily, maintain or lose weight and improve wellbeing in a way which works best for you!
As the number of older people in society increases the construct of ageing is being revisited. Getting older should be seen as a time of opportunity with society and communities benefiting from the skills, generosity, and experience of older people.
In Worcestershire partners from across health, social care, voluntary, and community and charity organisations have come together to devise a special programme, the Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE).
They have produced a five year strategy which aims to improve the experience of ageing across Worcestershire, making the most efficient use of resources and ensuring the best possible outcomes for older people and their informal and formal carers.
Simply Limitless is a health and wellbeing charity that is based in a former carpet factory in Kidderminster which offers a range of services and activities for people of all ages.
Services for older people include walking football sessions for over 50s, courses to actively tackle loneliness and isolation and a free 12 week course called Optimistic Ageing.
Supported by the National Lottery fund, Optimistic Ageing is designed to help you improve your mental well-being, build resilience and help you to maintain independence as you grow older.
