Community Safety

Tackling crime and disorder is a job for everyone and not just the police.

The North Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership brings together representatives from a range of public, private, voluntary and community sector bodies to seek out effective and sustainable solutions to reducing crime.

All partners share one vision of ‘Keeping North Worcestershire a safe place to live, work and visit'.
The North Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership (NWCSP) is a group of organisations that work together to reduce re-offending, tackle crime, anti social behaviour, environmental issues and substance misuse in the local area.
The partnership delivers a wide range of community safety initiatives aimed at keeping North Worcestershire a safe place to live, work and visit.
The partnership exists in accordance with the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, which placed a statutory duty on local organisations to work together to reduce crime and disorder and improve community safety.

Operational Groups known as Safer Bromsgrove, Safer Redditch and Safer Wyre Forest have been set up in each district to to ensure that local issues and concerns remain at the centre of the Partnership’s priorities, projects and campaigns. These Groups deal with community safety issues and anti social behaviour and are responsible for delivering local actions from the Partnership Plan.

Community Trigger

The Community Trigger is a process you can use to ask agencies to review the response to anti-social behaviour you have reported. The Trigger is designed to ensure that responsible agencies work together to try and resolve recurring concerns about anti-social behaviour.

The Community Trigger can be used in the following situations:

  • You have made three or more reports relating to the same anti-social behaviour problem in the past six months to the Council, Police or a Registered Housing Provider (social landlord) and you feel that no has action been taken.
  • At least three individuals and/or groups in the local community have made reports about the same problem in the past six months to the Council, Police or Registered Housing Provider (social landlord) and they feel that no action has been taken.
  • You can activate the Community Trigger on behalf of someone else if you have their written consent.
