Business support due to COVID-19

Business grants

Support grants are available for businesses which are affected by local restrictions or national lockdown. Your business may be able to apply for one or more of these grants.

Businesses that have previously received an Additional Restrictions Grant or who have applied for a Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open) will automatically be considered for the Additional Restrictions Grant for the duration of the current national lockdown. You do not need to make a separate application.

  • Businesses that supply goods and services to the events sector;
  • Businesses that have fixed property costs but do not have a separate listing on the business rates system, eg Market Traders, Street Licence Holders, Businesses in Shared Spaces;

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed)

Wyre Forest businesses were under Tier 2 restrictions from 2 to 30 December where pubs and bars not serving food were required to close.

Tier 3 restrictions were implemented from 31 December to 4 January meaning all pubs, bars, accommodation (with limited exceptions) and restaurants had to close with the exception of sales by takeaway, drive through or delivery.

National lockdown was implemented on 5 January requiring all non essential businesses to close.

For businesses which are legally required to close under Tier 2 or Tier 3 Restrictions, the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) scheme will apply. Fewer businesses are required to close under Tier 2 or 3 than under national restrictions. We are still waiting for further information from the government regarding Tier 3 restrictions from 31 December and national lockdown from 5 January. Details on the grant process will be updated here once confirmed.

The grant for eligible businesses is based on the rateable value for the business premises and will be a payment for each eligible property per 14 day qualifying restriction period.

  • £667 where the rateable value is £15,000 or less
  • £1,000 where the rateable value is between £15,001 and £50,999
