Bin collections during the coronavirus pandemic

Bin collections update

Our bin collections are currently taking place as normal.

Emptying your bins is one of our priorities so we’ve made special arrangements to make sure the service continues for as long as possible.

You can help us keep the service running and assist our crews during this challenging time by reducing your waste as much as possible.

Some household recycling centres (tips) are now open with reduced opening times/days. For up to date information and to check which sites are open, visit Worcestershire County Council's website.

We recommend composting any garden waste at home but, if you’re unable to do that, we run a fortnightly garden waste collection service. Sign up for garden waste collections.

Keep your distance from our bin crews

Our crews are doing a fantastic job to make sure your bin collections continue at this difficult time.

They are frontline staff, already working with reduced numbers, so please help them help you - stay away. Please practice social distancing, as you should be with everyone, but especially from our bin crews.

We understand you may have questions about our services but please do not ask them like you might normally!

You can safely contact our operational services team online, by email or by phone on 01562 732528.

How to dispose of your waste safely

Please make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after you touch waste or your bin.

We also ask you to follow our normal waste collection guidance.

Individuals with confirmed COVID-19 who have been assessed as suitable for self-isolation can store their personal waste (eg; used tissues and disposable cleaning cloths) securely within disposable bags. When appropriate, these bags should be removed and placed into another bag and securely tied or sealed and kept separate from other wastes. This must be stored for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual domestic or household waste bin. Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.
