Business support from Government in response to COVID-19

  • Small businesses

    Small businesses in receipt of Small Business Rate Relief may be eligible for a £10,000 support grant from the government. These grants will be paid by us in early April.

  • Retail, hospitality and leisure businesses

    A 100% Business Rates Retail Discount will be applied to all occupied retail, leisure and hospitality businesses for the year 2020/21. There will be no rateable value limit on the relief.

  • Business Interuption Loan Scheme

    Government has announced a coronavirus business interruption loan scheme. This will be operated by the British Business Bank.

  • Business Rates discount for nurseries

    As an extraordinary response to the coronavirus, the Government announced a business rates Nursery Discount on 18 March 2020.

    This relief will apply to hereditaments occupied by providers on Ofsted’s Early Years Register and are wholly or mainly used for the provision of the Early Years Foundation Stage and which are subject to business rates in the year 2020/21. There will be no rateable value limit on the relief.

  • This discretionary grant scheme is intended to assist small businesses whose income has been significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and which have not received funding from certain other Government support schemes.
