Wyre Forest District Council is undertaking a Community Governance Review (CGR) of Stourport-on-Severn, under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007. This follows a request for the review from Stourport Town Council as it perceives there to be anomalies in the distribution of seats to the wards that make up the Town Council.
A Community Governance Review can examine various issues relating to the governance of an area, and which are wider than electoral arrangements. Wyre Forest District Council will consider all representations received in reaching conclusions about what to do following consultation.
Wyre Forest District Council is now undertaking Stage One of the Review and is inviting Stourport-on-Severn Town Council, local electors and any interested organisations, to submit their views on the existing arrangements, together with any proposals for change. The terms of reference give background information to the review, a timetable and some possible alternative arrangements for the distribution of seats.
The deadline for submitting comments was 5pm, Wednesday 1 February 2017.
Full Council will consider the responses at its meeting on Wednesday 22 February 2017.
