Public Safety Protection Order - Dog Control Survey

We want to hear your views about our proposed Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) about dog control.

Take The Survey

We receive numerous complaints of dog fouling across the district. Over a 12 month period, January to December 2016, we received over 218 reports of this nature. Other partners, including West Mercia Police; Wyre Forest Community Housing; Safer Wyre Forest; Friends of Parks Groups; Countryside and Conservation; PACT groups and Parish/Town Councils also receive numerous reports of dog fouling each year.

The proposed PSPO could make the following offences:

  • Failure to pick up dog faeces when in control of dog
  • Failure to carry a poop bag or other means to clean up after a dog
  • Failure to keep a dog on a lead in a designated area
  • Failure to place a dog on a lead when directed to do so
  • Failure to exclude dogs from fenced off or enclosed children’s playgrounds.
  • Walking more dogs than is permitted at a time

We would value your opinion on the proposed PSPO, and invite you to contribute to the consultation process by completing our online survey.

You can comment on the new proposals at venues across the district in the coming weeks too:
