Recycling - what goes in your green bin?
Keep your recycling loose. Please do not put plastic bags or bin liners in your green bin.
Make sure your recycling is clean - you can rinse it in your used dish water when you've finished washing up, just make sure all the left over food/liquid has been rinsed out.

Recycling - aerosols, foil, food tins and drink cans
YES please
- Food tins
- Clean kitchen foil used for cooking, wrapping food, etc.
- Clean foil trays, e.g. from ready meals or pies
- Foil chocolate or sweet wrappers - check they’re not plastic-coated
- Foil lids from yoghurt pots or cream tubs
- Pet food tins
- Drink cans
- Aerosos
- Sweet and biscuit tins
- Metal lids from jars and bottles
Please remember
- food and drinks cans only
- no other types of metals e.g. saucepans, cutlery, tools
- please don't flatten cans
- please make sure all items are clean
- push sharp lids into cans
- separate plastic lids off aerosols and put them in your recycling bin loose
- no foil pouches or coffee pods – these need to go in your black/grey bin.
- no crisp packets or sweet wrappers
- tip: labels can be left on
- no gas bottles
Recycling - mixed glass bottles and jars
YES please

Please remember
- Rinse bottles and jars - you can rinse them in your dishwasher when you've finished washing up, just make sure all the leftover food/liquid has been rinsed out
- glass bottles and jars only
- pump tops need to be removed and put in your black/grey bin
- if your kerbside collection is done via a sack, please do not put glass in.
- glass recycling points are available at the household recycling centres
- no need to remove labels
- lids can be left on
- all colours of glass are accepted

Recycling - plastics bottles, pots, tubs, tubes and trays

YES please
- Grass cuttings
- Hedge and shrub clippings
- Leaves, twigs, and bark
- Small plants and weeds
- Cut flowers

- Animal waste (bedding/litter/faeces)
- Plastic bags/pots/trays
- Brick/rubble/stones

Rubbish
What goes in your black or grey bin?
YES please
- All unrecyclable household waste
NO thanks
- Builders waste/rubble - this can be take to your local household recycling site (tip)
- Garden waste - this can be recycled at home in a compost bin, collected through our Garden Waste Collection service or taken to your local household recycling site (tip)
- Batteries and items containing batteries (including vapes/e-cigarettes) - these can be recycled at many shops/supermarkets or your local household recycling site (tip)
- Electrical items - these can be take to your local household recycling site (tip)
- Textiles such as duvets, pillows, bed linen and curtains
All rubbish disposed of through black/grey bins is sent for incineration at EnviRecover energy from waste facility based on Hartlebury Trading Estate.

Please remember
- No textiles in your green bin - you can recycle at your local household waste site (tip) or at re-use organisations, charity shops and recycling sites where it can be donated for re-use/recycling
- No plastic bags in your green bin - anything contained within a plastic bag will be rejected at the recycling sorting plant to landfill. Our crews will not empty green or brown bins that contain bagged waste or waste that is not recyclable. Bags (including cereal bags, bread bags, fruit and veg bags) can be recycled through supermarket plastic bags recycling facilities
- No car batteries or other batteries - these can be recycled at your local household waste site (tip) or other smaller batteries can be taken to 'battery tubes/tubs' located in many shops and public buildings around Wyre Forest
- No gas canisters
