Wyre Forest District Council is going “digital” with its regular car park inspections.

Staff at the council Depot are to start using a specially developed computer “App” to carry out quarterly checks on the district’s car parks, delivering greater efficiencies and cutting out unnecessary paper work for back office staff.

The council has developed the app it introduced last year for play equipment safety checks and believes it is the first council to use the software for car park inspections.New Car Park App

Cabinet member for Operational Services Councillor Rebecca Vale said: “This is just one of many examples of how we are looking to deliver our services in the most efficient way.

“Our staff will be able to input key information straight onto an iPad – cutting out unnecessary and time consuming paper work.

“The information will go straight onto a computerised system for any necessary works to be carried out.

“It follows on from a similar system we introduced for play area inspections last year that has been a great success.”

The council will next look to extend the “App” for footpath and park inspections.
