Gardeners across Wyre Forest will benefit from an early bird bonus if they sign up to Wyre Forest District Council’s garden waste service during the next month.

Anyone who signs up to the service will not have to pay the joining fee which will save customers £21. This offer is available until the 31 March and currently costs £43 per year.

Customers will receive 20 collections for the annual fee which works out as £2.15 per collection.

The annual subscription runs from early March, with fortnightly collections until the end of November.

The service provides a hassle-free way of getting rid of garden waste. This includes grass cuttings, hedge and shrub clippings, weeds, cut flowers, leaves, twigs and bark.  The garden waste will be taken for composting into a soil conditioner.

Councillor Ian Hardiman, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Operational Services said:

“The garden waste service has proven successful across the district with over 4,000 residents currently signed up to the service.”

“The scheme can save you time, money and the inconvenience of taking your garden waste to the tip – you will also do your bit for the environment.”

Anyone wishing to sign up can visit our website www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/gardenwaste and pay by direct debit or call 01562 732528. Don’t forget to quote OFFER2 in your application.
