To celebrate the connections to Kidderminster’s music heritage, local artists across Wyre Forest are invited to share their artistic and visual flair this summer.
Kidderminster Arts Festival (KAF) has teamed up with the Xpression Leisure Grant Scheme run by Wyre Forest District Council to create a new work of art for this year’s event in August.
A £250 grant is available to fund the small scale commission which will be showcased at this year’s festival (KAF16) those interested should email firstname.lastname@example.org for full details on how to apply. The closing date for applications is Friday 20 May.
Artists will be asked to submit a proposal outlining their idea using no more than 2 sides of A4 that must include:
Details of what you plan to do
How your work will be presented / displayed
Your preferred location
Details of installation
How the project might benefit your development
Why you think KAF is a good place to present you work
Loz Samuels, Wyre Forest District Council’s Arts and Play Officer said:
“It is great to be able to offer this scheme again; we’ve had some fantastic new work as a result of this grant in the past. The piece should be designed to go outside so as many people get to see it as possible, it should help us discover what music means to you, or how you see its place in the world, music should be the inspiration though the piece itself can take any form you choose.“
Ideas must be new, or in development and have not been shown in Worcestershire before.
To ensure your proposal stands out from the rest, download the project brief.
