Rally round for the Recycling roadshow taking place in Weavers Wharf, Kidderminster this week (Monday 21- Sunday 27 September).
Wyre Forest District Council’s Waste Team has recently launched an education campaign aimed at tackling the issue of contaminated recycling bins in the area which has so far been a success.
As part of the campaign, a recycling video will be showcased at the roadshow this week. It demonstrates the recycling process once it leaves the kerbside and arrives at the recycling centre.
The Team will be set up in the area infront of Kidderminster Academy from 9am – 5pm, Monday to Saturday and 10am – 4:30pm on Sunday. They will be offering free advice and goodies. There will also be a free raffle taking place; all you have to do is fill in a questionnaire.
Councillor Ian Hardiman, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Operational Services said:
“We have been working hard to raise awareness of contaminated recycling in the area over the past few months. I would like to thank residents for their hard work to ensure their recycling is sorted correctly. The recycling video is informative and will help to educate residents even more about the recycling process.”
For help and advice with recycling, residents can visit the Council’s recycling page. Alternatively, they can email the team or call 01562 732528 and a member of the Team will be happy to assist them.
