Specially designed chandelier displays and tall sparkling lighting ‘cones’ will set the scene for a sparkling Christmas in Kidderminster town centre this year.
The beautiful new Christmas lights will shine in Vicar Street, High Street, Worcester Street, Marlborough Street, Oxford Street and Bridge Street.
Kidderminster Town Hall will also shine brightly from November 14 when the official switch-on takes place at 5pm after a programme of special festive entertainment starting at 1.30pm.
This includes the BBC Hereford and Worcester Roadshow music from the Lady and the Sax plus singer Sadie Owen. Father Christmas also makes an early appearance at the event.
Cllr John Campion, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration said:
“We’re looking forward to seeing the town lit up for the festive season. We know Kidderminster hasn't looked its best over the last few years, and we are co-ordinating the drive to attract popular retailers, investing £2 million in new public spaces and putting on quality events including Christmas light festivals.
We would like to encourage residents and visitors to support the renaissance of the town and take pride in the way it is putting its best foot forward!”
There is free parking in all Council car parks after 4.00pm from Saturday 14 November through to Sunday 10 January inclusive. The free evening parking offer is in addition to the existing free weekly parking offers.
Bromsgrove Street Car Park in Kidderminster is also free on Wednesdays between 10.00am – 4.00pm. Don’t forget to collect your free ticket and display clearly in your vehicle when using free parking incentives.
