Wyre Forest artists are being urged to get creative and come up with inspiring ideas for a small scale commission for next year’s Kidderminster Arts Festival.
And to help get their creative juices flowing, voluntary arts group Kidderminster Creatives is offering grants of £250 to the two artists with the most inspiring ideas.
Artists of any discipline are invited to a 'Creativity Jam' at the Cosy Coffee Company Cafe in Coventry Street on Thursday 29th October between 5.30 and 7.30pm to share ideas and meet other local creatives.
It will be an informal event, filled with some creative activities and lots of coffee and cake available to buy.
It’s free to come along, and you don’t have to have an idea to join in - the evening is also about artists getting together and meeting other people in a welcoming environment.
And as an extra incentive the Kidderminster Creatives committee is putting together goodie bags to give to everyone who comes along.
Loz Samuels, Arts Development Officer from Wyre Forest District Council said, “I’ve been working with Kidderminster Creatives since they started, they have done some great work, it’s fantastic that they are supporting local talent in this way, and I’ll be very happy to present the new work at the Arts Festival in August 2016.”
Councillor Sally Chambers, Cabinet Member for Health, Well-Being Housing, said: “This is a great way of encouraging local artists to showcase their work and it's fantastic that Kidderminster Creatives, who are an independent group working closely in partnership with us are holding this event.
“I’m sure this will help make next year’s event an even greater success!”
