A Wyre Forest catering business has been recognised for offering healthier choices on its menu.
Spennells Tandoori in Kidderminster is the first business in Wyre Forest to achieve a Healthier Choices Food Award.
The award recognises business owners who offer alternatives such as a choice of portion sizes and healthier menu options to cater for customers who are looking to lead a healthier lifestyle.
This business has achieved the Gold level because they also use some local food suppliers.
Mr Tazmul Islam, owner of Spennells Tandoori said: “I am delighted to be the first winner of this award in Kidderminster. I hope that people will try the food I serve, especially the healthier choices.”
Councillor Sally Chambers, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community, Health and Well-being said:“It is great to see food businesses across the Wyre Forest adapting their menus to include healthier options. Not only does this bring healthy benefits, it also allows customers a wider choice of food.”
