Did you visit KAF this summer? If so, you may spot yourself in a short film which was commissioned for this year’s event which took place from 8 – 20 August 2015.
Wyre Forest District Council, organisers of KAF (Kidderminster Arts Festival) commissioned The Community Broadcast Company (CBC) to create a fly on the wall style documentary for this year’s festival.
The camera crew based at Puxton Lane, Kidderminster, shadowed Loz Samuels, Wyre Forest District Council’s Arts and Play Development Officer throughout the event, capturing shows indoors and on the streets as well as interviewing artists back stage and during set up time.
Loz Samuels said:
“It’s great to have such a comprehensive record of the festival. For the team and I it’s especially great as we are too busy to take it all in and we really want to make the KAF experience available to people – even if they couldn’t be there. The film really captured the flavour of the event. The crew were fantastic to work with and really developed a rapport with the performers. It was a real bonus to work with a new local company to tell the story of KAF 15.”
Cllr Sally Chambers, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Heath, Well-being and Housing said:
“It’s refreshing to see KAF through the eyes of other people and to remember the details of such a varied event. We are already planning KAF16 which promises to be another memorable festival and will include the launch of the new Music Heritage Trail.”
