As the new look pedestrian areas are being completed on the High Street, they are paving the way for an exciting new stage in the £2m public realm scheme currently taking place in Kidderminster Town Centre.
Contractors will shortly be on site laying out the new square at the junction of Vicar Street and High Street opposite the entrance to the Swan Centre. The space will be cordoned off as there will be land re-modelling work being done to connect Vicar Street and High Street.
Cllr John Campion, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Regeneration said:
“We are looking forward to seeing the new look town centre which will be attractive for shoppers, traders and visitors to the town.
Whilst work is going on, there is some temporary surfacing and we urge all pedestrians to take extra care as there may be some uneven sections underfoot until the final surface is laid.
We thank everyone, including the shop owners and market traders for their cooperation and understanding whilst the work continues. Our contractors are doing their best to minimise disruption and maintain a safe and accessible environment for everyone. The end result will be a much improved town centre for everyone to enjoy.”
