Come and show your support for our Armed Forces on Monday 22 June. A special flag flying ceremony has been arranged by Wyre Forest District Council to honour the British Armed Forces.
The event will take place outside Stourport Royal British Legion, Lichfield Street, Stourport-on-Severn.
Guests are asked to arrive at 10am outside the British Legion ready for the parade which will take place at 10.10am. Standard bearers from local armed force representatives will lead the parade down Lichfield Street.
At 10.15am guests will be formally welcomed by Cllr Chris Rogers, the Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council. At 10.20am prayers will be led by Reverend Eva McIntyre.
The flag will be raised by the Chairman at 10.30am to honour the British Armed Forces, past, present and future.
After the flag has been raised, Stourport Primary School will be performing a few songs.
Councillor Marcus Hart, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council said:
"The Armed Forces Flag Flying Ceremony is a great opportunity for everyone to show their support for the men and women who are part of our Armed Forces. This includes troops who are currently serving and their families to veterans and cadets. We urge Wyre Forest residents to come to the flag flying ceremony outside Stourport Royal British Legion, and if appropriate to wear their full military regalia, berets, blazers or uniform to mark the occasion.”
Wyre Forest District Council is one of hundreds of councils across the country taking part in a week of official celebrations in honour of our Armed Forces.
