Funding towards the cost of external wall insulation is available to help Wyre Forest residents reduce their heating bills. Wyre Forest District Council has teamed up with Worcestershire County Council to provide up to £4,500 per property, funded through the government’s Green Deal Communities scheme. Residents who own or privately rent a property with solid walls, as opposed to cavity walls, can find out more and book a free, no obligation Green Deal Assessment by calling Act on Energy on 0800 988 2881.
Councillor Sally Chambers, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Housing, said:
“If you live in a solid wall property, this scheme provides a great opportunity to get help with the cost of insulation and to reduce future fuel bills. As well as making your home more comfortable, this is also a great way to make your property look like new. The funding is only available for a short time so people need to book their free assessment by Friday 31 July.”
Information sessions for residents are being held on Wednesday 22 July (12 noon until 5pm) at The Land Oak, Kidderminster DY10 2SA, Tuesday 28 July (12 noon until 5pm) at St Chad’s Church, Comberton, Kidderminster DY10 3AY, Wednesday 29 July (10am until 6pm) at Kidderminster Town Hall Kidderminster Town Hall DY10 1DB and Thursday 30 July (12 noon until 5pm) at the Civic Centre, Stourport-on-Severn DY13 8UJ.
