Local volunteer group, Friends of St George’s Park will be hosting a Family Fun Day on Saturday 25 April.
With support of Wyre Forest District Council and ‘Let’s Eat the Park’ (LEAP), this free event will take place from 12noon – 4pm.
There is plenty on offer for the whole family including live music, face painting, a bouncy castle and refreshments.
Spike Betterton from Friends of St George’s Park said:
“This year the event is going to be bigger and better than any previous year. We have a great variety of attractions including live music from the Karpet Kickers, a bungee run, street theatre and traditional favourites such as story telling.”
The LEAP programme is ran by volunteers as an initiative to plant free food in various green spaces around the Horsefair, Kidderminster.
LEAP member, Rob Brown added:
“This event allows us to further promote the LEAP project and its achievements in the local community. The project has enables a greener, cleaner and a more edible environment for everyone in the locality to enjoy.”
Wyre Forest District Council’s Health and Sustainability Officer, Elaine Halford-Bishop said:
“This is a great event which brings members of the community together. We support all the hard work the volunteers put into to keeping the park tidy, making it a great place to visit.”
Friends of St George’s Park and LEAP welcome new volunteers to help run and organise activities. More information is available on their website.
