It is being organised by Wyre Forest District Council and takes place on Saturday 1st June between 11am and 6pm.
It promises to be a great outdoor festival of live music and jive dancing throughout the day. The line up is Katy Jane, Colin Paul, The Bravo Boys and The Heartbeats. Between the live acts there will be a Rock and Roll DJ to entertain the crowds.
There are plenty of stalls too. They will include retro clothing, records, toys, jewellery and a glitter tattoo stall. There will also be arts and crafts stands. There will be food and refreshments to buy throughout the day.
Brian Murdoch is sponsoring the event, which is now in its sixth year. The Council has also had assistance from Hickmans of Kidderminster who has donated the stage.
The Rock and Roll party is free but the Council does welcome donations to support the continued programme of events.
Lesley Fox, Community Development Manager at Wyre Forest District Council said:
“This is always a lively event and is ideal for a family day out. We’d love to see people turn up dressed for the occasion in retro outfits. We’ve had a fantastic response in the past and we hope to continue putting on large scale, well loved events. We know it’s important to try to keep them free of charge with top quality acts, but this is getting harder in the current economic events. We’re really grateful to our sponsors and we are encouraging more people to make donations to support events. “
