Local people looking to move to quality affordable housing are being supported thanks to the Council’s adoption of a new planning policy document.
Wyre Forest District Council has adopted its Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) which sets out detailed guidance on how the District Council’s existing affordable housing policies should be interpreted and applied.
Councillor John Campion, Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration said,
“Wyre Forest District Council has an excellent record of delivering affordable housing with an average of 73 new affordable properties per year being added to the housing stock between 2006/07 and 2013/2014. 165 units were completed during 2013/14. Planning permission is in place for a further 158 affordable dwellings with 103 of these already under construction. This means more people have the chance to access quality affordable housing in the district.”
The Affordable Housing SPD provides clear guidance to applicants on the amount and quality of affordable housing that is expected to be delivered within the District.
