The annual Showcase of Services for Older people is coming to Kidderminster Town Hall this August and will be opened by BBC Midlands Today presenter, Nick Owen.
The event will be offering free information and advice regarding healthy living, finances, benefits and local services. The successful Showcase attracted more than 300 senior residents last year proving to be a big hit throughout the area.
More than 30 organisations will be attending this popular event including, Age UK Wyre Forest, Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service, MS Society, Tax Help for Older People, Wyre Forest Community Housing. Alzheimer’s Society, Stroke Association, etc
People are encouraged to ask questions and discover the services which are readily available to ensure they are achieving the best possible healthy lifestyle.
Several activities and sessions will be held including ‘Laughter’ yoga, cookery demonstrations and opportunities to partake in gentle exercise routines.
The event will run on Thursday 7th August from 9:30am until 1:30pm. Free entry and refreshments including tea, coffee and biscuits will be available to all, along with a free prize draw and several give-aways.
Councillor Anne Hingley, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Well-being and Housing said:
“This worthwhile event will once again be offering our senior residents invaluable advice and information which will benefit their general lifestyle within the community. Previous showcase events have received excellent feedback and the organisations which attend are able to have more personalised contact with the senior residents and the public.”
