Wyre Forest District Council is reminding local residents to take note of revised rubbish and recycling collection days over the festive period.
For Wyre Forest residents who would usually have their rubbish collected on Thursday 25th December; collection will now be made on Monday 22nd December. Residents who would usually have their rubbish collected on Friday 26th December; collection will now be made on Monday 29th December.
For residents whose recycling collection is on Thursday 1st January, their collection will be made on Monday 5th January. All other collections over the Christmas and New Year period remain unchanged.
If residents have regular excess recycling they can order a second bin free of charge. If you have occasional excess recycling you can collect a reusable bag from customer services at the Hub in Kidderminster. If residents have additional side waste over the festive season they are asked to put it next to their bin for collection.
Over the Christmas period collections will start early so residents are asked to make sure their bins are ready to be picked up by 6.00am. In extreme circumstances bad weather can disrupt collections. Residents are asked to keep updated on Facebook and Twitter so ‘like’ or ‘follow’ the Council for updates. From Wednesday 24th- Sunday 28th December the Hub will be closed. During this time, residents can access information and help online. Visit the Worcestershire Hub website where you can apply for, pay for, renew and report a number of council servies.
The Hub will re-open on 29th and 30th December from 8.30am-5.00pm. Normal service will resume from Friday 2nd January (8:30am-5.00pm).
Operational Services at Green Street will be open until Wednesday 24th December from 8:00am-4:00pm. Services will also be available on Wednesday 31st December and Friday 2nd January from 9:00am-1:00pm on 01562 732528.
