The outdoor cinema experience will visit Brinton Park, Kidderminster on Saturday 30 August. This free family event, organised by Wyre Forest District Council will feature the box office hit, Mamma Mia.
Local residents are urged to ‘take a chance’ on this year’s outdoor cinema experience. ‘The name of the game’ is to dress up and sing along to Mamma Mia on the big screen which will be shown at 8pm. Visitors won’t need much ‘money, money, money’ either as the event is free. Activities and fun for all the family will begin at 5pm. There is a fancy dress competition, live performances, competitions and the chance to have a go at being a real dancing queen with Mamma Mia style dancing thanks to a qualified instructor.
Party goers are being encouraged to dress up as characters from the film or as a member of Abba, whose music the movie is based on. There will be a variety of food and drink available to buy.
Councillor Anne Hingley, Cabinet Member for Heath, Well-Being and Housing said,
“This event was a great success last year; it brought a huge community together with more than 1,000 people in Brinton Park to watch Grease. This year’s feature film is Mamma Mia and once again we’re encouraging everyone to sort out their fancy dress, invite their friends along and make it a fantastic way to finish Wyre Forest’s action packed summer of activities.”
The outdoor cinema experience is free but anyone wishing to support the Council’s programme of free events will have the opportunity to make a donation.
