Gardeners in Wyre Forest can get stuck in to their chores and fill up their brown bins as Wyre Forest District Council’s garden waste collection service resumes next month (Monday 4 March).

The fortnightly kerbside collections are the simplest, cleanest and most hassle-free way of disposing of garden waste for one easy annual payment of £48.50 for a 240ltr bin, and £32.00 for a 140ltr bin.

Between now and Monday 18 February gardeners can take advantage of a special offer and save £20 on the usual one-off joining free. Existing garden waste customers will also qualify for a £20 saving if they order a second bin.

And during the period all garden waste customers, new and old, can also enjoy 10% off any tree works they commission from The Depot.

New 2019 calendar advising customers of 2019 collection dates will be delivered to homes in the next couple of weeks.  Collections will take place fortnightly between March and December and customers can sign up at any point during the year.

Collections provide a hassle-free way of getting rid of garden waste. This includes grass cuttings, hedge and shrub clippings, weeds, cut flowers, leaves, twigs and bark.

Councillor Rebecca Vale, Cabinet Member for Operational Services, said: “The garden waste service is very popular with residents, it saves time, money and the inconvenience of taking your garden waste to the tip.

“All garden waste collected is turned into compost, so it is also good for the environment, and all income generated from the garden waste service is invested into front-line council services to benefit all who live, work and visit Wyre Forest.”
