Parking Services

Parking Services includes the operation of the council's car parks and enforcement of the on-street parking regulations.

Wyre Forest District Council took over responsibility for the management of Parking Enforcement throughout the district from West Mercia Police. Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) who are employed by the Council, (as opposed to Traffic Wardens who were employed by the police), patrol the streets and car parks.

If you are a driver who parks your vehicle correctly, the changes will not have affected you in any way.

We do it to:

  • Reduce congestion by controlling the parking of vehicles on street, thus leaving designated parking bays for the correct vehicles i.e. loading bays and disabled bays
  • Encourage safe and sensible parking for all motorists
  • Allow buses to operate more effectively
  • Improve the flow of traffic and improve the environment
If your vehicle is parked in a pay and display car park managed by the Council and you are contravening the regulations, you can expect a Penalty Charge Notice to be issued.

If the Penalty Charge Notice is not paid, the amount will revert back to the original amount of the contravention, and the recovery process will start.

It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is parked in accordance with the parking regulations at all times.
