How are we doing?
Statistics from the collection of your rubbish, recycling and
garden waste.
Did you know....?
| In 2010/2011 the cost of
your recycling and rubbish collections in Wyre Forest, paid for
through your Council Tax, was less than £40 per
household for the whole year! |
 |
 |
Wyre Forest residents
recycled 36.16% of their waste in January 2011, compared to just
24.98% in May 2010.
Well done Wyre
Forest!
|
| In just ten months Wyre
Forest residents have reduced the amount of waste they throw away
to landfill by 10%; from 50 kilograms per household in May 2010 to
45 kilograms per household in January 2011.
Fantastic! |
 |
 |
Since the start of the
Garden Waste Collection Service in April 2010 over 445 tonnes of
green waste has been sent for composting by Wyre Forest residents;
green-thinking as well as green-fingered! |
| Between April 2010 and
January 2011, Wyre Forest residents have purchased over 500 compost
bins through the council's subsidised scheme (www.hw.getcomposting.com).
With bins available from as little as £7 each and with a 'buy one
get one half price' offer, this equates to a cumulative saving of
at least £17,750 from the recommended retail price! |

Carnival, and spoke to over 2500 people; giving advice on
changes to recycling collections, the new Garden Waste Collection
Service, Love Food Hate Waste, using real nappies,
composting....to name just a few. |
