Service Standards - Street Scene
Role of Section
We will provide a skilled, experienced and committed workforce
who contribute heavily to ensuring that the district is clean,
inspiring and valued. Street Scene is responsible for Street
Cleansing, Street Furniture & Street Name Plates, Fly Tipping
Removal, Litter Bins and Bus Shelters.
Cleansing Services
We will...
Deliver an efficient and effective street cleansing service.
Maintain a healthy, clean and inspiring environment, liaising with
agencies such as Worcestershire County Council, Highways
Partnership Unit, Environment Agency, Water Authorities and Wyre
Forest Community Housing.
Work towards education of the community to achieve improvements in
standards of cleanliness.
Work within statutory and legislative guidelines, introducing
enforcement actions where appropriate.
Work with the community responding to environmental issues whilst
providing the following cleansing routine:
Service Standards
We will...
Mechanically sweep town centre areas on a daily basis.
Empty all town centre litter bins twice a day.
Empty all urban litter bins once a day.
Empty rural litter bins once a week.
Sweep the majority of 'A' roads and 'B' roads on a
minimum 20 days working cycle (some more frequently). This
may change for a period of time during Autumn when
we concentrate on leaf and blossom clearance.
Sweep all roads on an ad-hoc basis.
Respond to environmental issues such as litter blackspots,
flytipping, flyposting, graffiti, animal roadkill and general
cleansing problems.
Operate a range of public conveniences throughout the district and
cleanse them on a daily basis.

We will...
Deliver an efficient and effective installation, repair and
maintenance service.
Maintain a healthy, clean and inspiring environment, liaising with
agencies such as Worcestershire County Council, Highways
Partnership Unit, Environment Agency, Water Authorities and Wyre
Forest Community Housing.
Service Standards
Attend to any reported incident within one day.
Repair bus shelters within 7 days.
Street Name Plates
We will...
Deliver an efficient and effective installation, repair and
maintenance service.
Maintain a healthy, clean and inspiring environment, liaising with
agencies such as Worcestershire County Council, Highways
Partnership Unit, Environment Agency, Water Authorities and Wyre
Forest Community Housing.
Once funding has been approved, we will erect a replacement street
nameplate within 6 weeks.
Service Standards
Attend to any reported incident with one day.
Attend to damaged name plates within 2 days and make safe.
