Pollution - Other

The Pollution Control Section is part of the Environmental Health Service and carries out a number of key pollution related services.

Water sample Water Sampling
We monitor the quality of all private supplies, although depending on how many people use the supply, this may not happen often. (A private supply may be provided by a borehole, spring or well etc and is not water supplied by a water company). We currently sample certain swimming pools and paddling pools (seasonal) for public health safety in respect of water quality.

Bonfire General Pollution Complaints
We investigate problems of smells, dust and other emissions from all types of premises and smoke from chimneys or bonfires.

Green highlighter pen marking question sheet Consultation
We also receive consultations from other parts of the Council on planning applications and entertainment licences.
