Supplementary Planning Guidance and Documents

Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) is non-statutory guidance which supplements policies within the Adopted Local Plan. Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) are similar to the council's existing Supplementary Planning Guidance. They elaborate on the current Adopted Local Plan policies and, in future, Development Plan Documents, with which they must be consistent. Supplementary Planning Documents are capable of being a 'material consideration' in determining planning applications but they are afforded less weight than the Development Plan Documents. As work on the Local Development Framework progresses,
a number of existing SPGs will be replaced with SPDs and further SPDs will be developed.

Churchfields Masterplan SPD

A Masterplan has been prepared for the Churchfields area of Kidderminster. The purpose of the Masterplan is to set out a detailed design framework for the area to help guide new development. The document will also provide an important part of the evidence base to inform the Kidderminster Central Area Action Plan.

The Masterplan was adopted as an SPD by Council on 28th September 2011.

Public consultation on the Draft Masterplan took place over six weeks between 26th May and 9th July 2001. In response to some of the comments received, the District Council made a number of amendments to the draft SPD. All representations made and the amended SPD were considered by the Council's Scrutiny Committee and Cabinet at meetings held on the 8th September and 20th September 2011 respectively, before going to Council for adoption.
