Supplementary Planning Guidance and Documents

Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) is non-statutory guidance which supplements policies within the Adopted Lcoal Plan.  Supplementary Planning Documents are similar to the Council's existing Supplementary Planning Guidance.  They elaborate on the current Adopted Local Plan policies and, in future, Development Plan Documents, with which they must be consistent.  Supplementary Planning Dcoumetns are capable of being a 'material consideration' in determining planning applications but they are afforded less weight than the Development Plan Documents.  As work on the Local Development Framework progresses,  a number of existing SPGs will be replaced with SPDs and further SPDs will be developed.

Supplementary Planning Documents currently available are:

  • Planning Obligations

The SPD was adopted by Council on 28th February 2007 following public consultation in autumn 2006.
