Statement of Community Involvement
Wyre Forest District Council would like to involve communities
and stakeholders in the planning process. The Statement of
Community Involvement (SCI) explains the sorts of issues that the
District Council will be consulting about and how we would like to
do it. It pays particular attention to community involvement in the
preparation of Local Development Documents (LDDs) and consultation
on planning applications.
The Council published a draft version of the SCI in April 2005
for six weeks and we asked for your comments. 159 responses were
received. The comments were taken into account and the SCI was
updated. The District Council approved the revised SCI and it was
submitted to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister on 27th
September 2005. A second six-week consultation period ran from 27th
September 2005 to 8th November 2005 where the Council asked for
your opinion on the final submission version. All of the
representations received are available to view below. In total 40
representations were received from 26 respondents, 5
representations were objections to the SCI.
None of the respondents wished to exercise their right to be
heard at an examination and therefore the Planning Inspectorate
appointed an inspector, Mr K Holland BA(Hons) Dip TP MRTPI ARICS,
to carry out a written representations examination to consider the
soundness of the SCI. The Inspector's Report was considered by
Cabinet on 27th April 2006 and the SCI was adopted incorporating
the Inspector's recommended changes.
The Adopted Statement of Community Involvement is available to
view at the Wyre Forest Customer Sevice Centre, Kidderminster Town
Hall, Stourport Civic Centre and the libraries of Bewdley,
Stourport and Kidderminster during normal office hours. A loan
