The Wyre Forest District Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) was submitted to the Secretary of State on 8th April 2010.  The Core Strategy DPD will now undergo an Examination in Public.  Read more about the Core Strategy Examination in Public.

Wyre Forest District produced a Pre-Submission Publication Core Strategy on which representations were invited for a period of six weeks commencing on Thursday 7th January 2010. The closing date for representations was5.30pm on Thursday 18th February 2010.

The Council submitted the Core Strategy to the Secretary of State for Independent Examination on 8th April 2010. Prior its submission, the Core Strategy was published to enable representations to be made based on the document's soundness. (Further information on the Tests of Soundness is available from the representation guidance notes below) This pre-submission publication period enabled the Council to determine whether any changes needed to be made before the document was submitted for examination by a Planning Inspector. All representations received at this stage were submitted alongside the Core Strategy for the Inspector's consideration.

The publication version of the Core Strategy was based on a comprehensive frontloading process and a series of consultation stages in accordance with the Council's Adopted Statement of Community Involvement. The consultation statement below sets out the detailed levels of consultation that have been undertaken during the Core Strategy's formulation. It also includes information on how the consultation responses were taken into account in developing the Publication Core Strategy.

The Core Strategy has also been informed by a comprehensive Sustainability Appraisal process including an independent check by consultants UE Associates. A robust evidence base has been produced to inform the background to policy making.

All DPDs ae required to undergo Sustainability Appraisal (SA) in order to ensure that they are in line with the Government's objectives on sustainable development.  The Final SA Report for the Core Strategy is set out below.  Previous stages of the SA process can be viewed along with the previous consultation stages of the Core Strategy using the link below.
