Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the intentions of the District Council as the Local Planning Authority over a three-year time frame. The document sets out a detailed programme of work for producing the Local Development Documents (LDDs) which will make up the Local Development Framework (LDF) to guide the development of the District up to 2026. Appendix A of the LDS provides a detailed timetable for the production of the Local Development Framework. (All documents, when they are published or adopted will be added to the website).

A revised scheme came into effect in August 2008. The key changes in the LDS are:

  • The reprogramming of the Core Strategy DPD, with consequential amendments to the Site Allocations and Policies DPD and Kidderminster Central Area Action Plan DPD;
  • The removal of the Development Control Policies DPD from the LDS; and
  • Details of new Supplementary Planning Documents which will be produced as part of the Local Development Framework.

It should be noted that since the publication of the 2008 LDS some minor changes have been made to the timetable for the preparation of the Core Strategy DPD, Site Allocations and Policies DPD and Kidderminster Central Area Action Plan DPD.
