Core Strategy Development Plan Document - The Process to Submission

The Core Strategy underwent an Examination in Public during Summer 2010.  Read more on the Examination in Public.

Submission

In compliance with Regulation 30 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 the following documents were submitted to the Secretary of State to form the basis of an independent examination on 8^th April 2010:

In accordance with Regulation 29, the District Council has received a Statement of Regional Conformity from the West Midlands Regional Assembly.  Read the Statement of Regional Conformity.   (1.92MB)

The District Council has completed the Self-Assessment toolkit for both Legal Compliance and Soundness.

The development of the Core Strategy DPD has been informed by an Evidence Base.  A document has been prepared signposting the relevant evidence base for each policy area set out within the Core Strategy.

Core Strategy Preferred Options Consultation (January 2009)

A six week consultation was undertaken on the Core Strategy Preferred Options paper and Draft Sustainability Appraisal Report commencing in January 2009.

Core Strategy - Revised Issues and Options Paper (January 2008)

A consultation was undertaken on the Revised Issues and Options Paper commencing in January 2008.  As part of the consultation on the Revised Paper, the District Council held a Stakeholder Workshop on Monday 18th February 2008 which was attended by a range of key stakeholders. The aim of the workshop was to discuss the feasibility and deliverability of the options presented within the paper.

Initial Topic Papers and Stakeholder Meetings
