Working with Housing Associations
The Council works with its partner Housing Associations to
help provide affordable housing, both rented and shared ownership
(part rent/part mortgage) for people in housing need. The Council
also works with the Housing Corporation, who provide funding to
Housing Associations to build new homes. The Council also provides
funding for this purpose.
There is an agreement in place between the Council and its Partner
Housing Associations which also explains the working arrangements.

The
Affordable Housing Toolkit (130K) has
been developed to enable the Council to assess levels of affordable
housing and to better negotiate with developers.
