Food Safety Service
We Will:
- Produce an annual inspection programme for all food businesses
in the district.
- Monitor all food business in the district according to the
degree of risk presented by their operation. Around 500 inspections
are carried out each year, together with associated follow up
visits.
- Carry out a programme of bacteriological testing of food
intended for sale for human consumption, to check that it is safe
to eat.
- Respond to the public complaints about food or poor food
hygiene practices within 10 working days and investigate outbreaks
of food borne disease to identify the source and prevent further
spread.
- We will adhere to the requirements of the
Food Standards Agency Framework Agreement.
