A Locally Listed Building is one that has been recognised by the
District Council as being of local interest, either for historical
associations, or for its architectural style. They are usually
buildings holding key positions in the streetscape, or are of high
architectural quality, that are not included in the Statutory List
of Buildings. They are NOT Listed Buildings. Learn more about Statutory Listed Buildings
Local List Buildings and Structures are not given any protection
through Law, but the District Council does encourage the use of
appropriate materials and design. The general "rule of thumb" is
that repairs should be undertaken on a like-for-like basis.
