Young Rangers
The Young Rangers Club is run by the Ranger Service and
sponsored by the Kidderminster Times, Shuttle and Stourport
News.
The Club gives local eight to fourteen year olds the opportunity to
explore and experience the nature and wildlife found around the
Wyre Forest district.
The Club usually meets twice a month on a Sunday morning. There are
30 Young Rangers places.
Young Rangers events are normally held on any of the districts
Nature Reserves .
Their activities include:
- Pond Dipping
- Bug Hunts
- Adventure Trails
- Fungal Forays
- Night Noises
- Guided Walks
Annual trips are held to explore Nature Reserves in other parts of
the country and a Young Rangers Presentation Evening is funded by
The Shuttle. Subscriptions are paid by the Young Rangers at each
meeting.
Each member of the club is automatically entered into a
reward-based award scheme, and also receives regular Young Ranger
Newsletters.
A monthly Young Rangers Club Page appears in The Shuttle newspaper
with features, news items and quizzes.
