Chinese Snuff Bottle.
Taking snuff (powered tobacco) was a fashionable past time for the
social elite of China from the 17th Century onwards. The practice
died out during the early 20th Century. Snuff bottles were made in
many different materials such as porcelain, jade and ivory. |

Chinese Carved Jade Bowl
The use of carved jade was an integral part of Chinese society for
more than 6,000 years. Jade was regarded as sacred and played
significant roles in politics, economics, philosophy, and
religion. |
