Service Standards – Leisure Development

Role of Section

To develop and organise a programme of cultural opportunities through events, activities and festivals, which respond to the needs and aspirations of the local community and visitors to the Wyre Forest district.

To improve the quality of life of local residents and add value to the visitor experience through participation and enjoyment of a wide variety of events and activities accessible to all. 

To offer support and advice in event management to local clubs and organisations. 

Services

What we will do:

  • Provide a Bands in the Park programme
  • Provide themed events
  • Facilitate live music and dance
  • Develop audiences
  • Encourage participation from rural areas
  • Work with and support local partnership groups
  • Promote the Wyre Forest district
  • Encourage and sponsor events taking place in the Wyre Forest district.

Operating Standards

We will:

  • Use professionally trained and skilled operators and providers of services
  • Follow good practice guidelines as detailed in Wyre Forest Safeguarding Children Policy
  • Ensure that employees are trained in Health and Safety to deal with hazards and incidents which may occur
  • Ensure activities are risk assessed
  • Ensure that Equality and Diversity is a priority
