Bold Batik
Brilliant colours, slightly burnt fingers and great fun all
round at Bold Batik. Resident printing artist Ros
Zalin gave children at Bewdley Museum a hands on introduction to
the art of Batik as part of the Wyre Forest District Council Summer
Activities program. The young artists made material gift bags by
creating intricate patterns on the fabric in hot wax and then
colouring with dazzling dyes.
The next crafty activity at Bewdley Museum is Garden
Plaques.

Survival Skills
Heres the scenario...Wyre Forest District Council sent 30 lucky
children and their Activity Leaders on a dream holiday they will
never forget. In a terrifying freak accident the aeroplane bound
for distant climes crash landed somewhere in the deepest dark of
Hurcott Woods. Splattered in all directions. Three groups came
together, but which showed the best teamwork and managed to survive
until finally rescued? Who built the best shelter or mastered the
art of creating fire? This was an adventure not to be
missed but there are plenty more Ranger days in the Activities
Guide, be sure to book your place now.

Garden Plaques
No need for green fingers at Garden
Plaques, just a little concentration and lots of
imagination. Working with Bewdley Museum resident artist Nicola
Price, children worked in clay to create original pieces of art
using nature for inspiration. Printing, sculpting, slipping and
scoring leaves and bark to produce stunning decorations. The
perfect gift for a green fingered relative or to show off at
home.
The next crafty activity at Bewdley
Museum is Creative threads, book your place now.

Playday Stourport
Despite the wet Wednesday weather families at
Playday Stourport were determined to have fun!
Lickhill Park was ringing with the sound of
Kareoke Stars. The Donkey Rides and Circus School were a big hit
and if you were brave enough to try the Bungee Trampolines and
climbing walls you could see the activities from a very different
perspective!
Playday events have finished for this
year, but be sure to look at the Summer Activities
brochure for even more holiday fun!
