Shindig
Worcestershire’s Rural and Community Touring Scheme,
bringing live arts to your doorstep!
 |
Shindig’s Spring Season programme
is full of great shows from January through to May. As always
you’ll find a variety of high quality shows for all ages and a warm
welcome waiting. You can trust Shindig to bring you memorable
evenings and they’re often popular so be sure to book your tickets
early.
Worcestershire’s programme of live arts and entertainment for
community venues is hosted by voluntary promoting groups who sell
tickets locally, supported by the Shindig Scheme Co-ordinators,
Live & Local Ltd., and their local authority arts officers.
Touring companies and performers with regional, national and
international profiles provide a wide range of theatre, dance,
music, opera, storytelling, cabaret theatre, children’s theatre,
circus and clowning including cultural diversity work. The work is
often specifically made for small spaces. Shindig is subsidised by
Arts Council England, Worcestershire County Council and Wyre Forest
District Council.

Venues and Promoters
Shindig is nothing without its promoters and venues
The promoter is usually a voluntary group or organisation which
takes responsibility for promoting the show, from choosing the
artist, booking the venue, publicising the event, selling tickets,
liaising with the performers and running the event on the
night.
The venue is usually a village hall or community centre. It need
not be state-of-the-art, though it does need some basics (toilets,
heating, lighting etc).
If you think you have the people and the venue and want to be
involved, then contact the Scheme Co-ordinator at Live & Local
on (01926) 402173 for more information, or you can give our Arts
Development Team a call on 01562 732928 for more information or
