Safe in Our Hands
Wyre Forest District Council (WFDC) believes that all young people
have the right to enjoy a safe, friendly and welcoming
environment.
In accordance with our Safeguarding Children Policy, WFDC
will:
- Ensure all staff and volunteers are appropriately
qualified
- Operate a comprehensive and effective recruitment process
- Promote a code of conduct for all staff and volunteers
- Follow national good practice guidelines at all times
- Provide relevant training for staff and volunteers
- Create a high awareness of WFDC's Safeguarding Children
Policy
- Assist local voluntary organisations to develop child
protective policies
- Establish effective procedures to deal with any concerns
Above all, we will always put the interests and welfare of
young people first and foremost.
You may feel reluctant to voice your concerns in case you are wrong
or worried about the impact on your child, but if you are concerned
you must take action.
If you have a concern:
- Speak to other parents
- Speak to the leader in charge, who will register your concerns
and follow established procedures
- If you are not confident that they are the appropriate person,
contact the WFDC Child Protection Officer
- If you are unhappy about the response you receive, contact the
NSPCC Child Protection Helpline on 0808 800 5000 or your local
Police or Social Services Department.
