Brinton Park Art Project

Brinton Park is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. As part of the ongoing work, we have commissioned artists natalie Cole and Wayne Pottinger of "Also Studios" to design a site-specific shelter with seating and a heritage trail to be situated in the park.

"Also Studios" have been consulting with a range of local community groups since August 2005 about what they would like the artists to consider when designing this bespoke furniture.
They have listened to their views and from the consultation sessions they have created a selection of designs for the shelter and seating which will eventually replace what is currently in the park.

The artists produced models of their designs which were exhibited in Kidderminster Town Hall and Rowland Hill Centre in December 2005. This gave members of the public the opportunity to express their opinions and vote for which designs they would prefer to be sited in the park.

The final shelter is now located in the park. The structure is made from cedar wood from sustainable forests and stainless steel.

The area around the shelter has now been resurfaced and matching bench seating has been installed.

The benches are also constructed using cedar wood from sustainable forests and finished with stainless steel.
