Arts Events and Workshops

Arts Development host a range of arts activities and events
throughout the year. We work with community groups to deliver
art projects or workshops. Our aim is to engage with all elements
of the community through our arts activities.

Events might focus on school holiday activities and cultural
dates, such as the Chinese New Year, or may relate to a particular
need which has been flagged up as a good idea.

Dance Attack - February half term 2012
|
A Four Day course where you'll be sure to learn some cool new
dance moves in a fun environment. Whether your a beginner or
broadening your dance skills this is the place to be this half
term.
The course will run Monday 13th February to Thursday 16th
February 2012 at Holy Innocents Church, Foley Park. It is open to
anyone between the ages of 12 and 18 and will run 13:00 - 15:00
each day. The cost is £3 per day or £10 for the 4 days

Show for February 2012 - The Owl who was Afraid of the
Dark

Based on the classic children’s book by Jill Tomlinson, this
funny, gentle and reassuring tale is written especially for small
people aged 3 - 7 (and grown-up’s who sleep with the big light on!)
With an irresistible blend of live
music, puppetry and storytelling, this beautiful new show
introduces an old friend to a new generation of theatre-goers.

Senior Art Makers Art Classes
A programme of art exercises centred on painting and drawing is
running at Church House, Rectory Lane in Areley Kings next to St.
Bartholomew's Church.

The sessions take place on Wednesdays between 4.00pm and 6.00pm.
Please note classes are becoming full so we recommend paying
on a termly basis to guarantee your place.

Early 'Ears - Music for the Under 5s
Early 'Ears Music with Craig Trafford are sessions of fun,
body-brain activities for children under 5 and their grown ups.
Using music and easy instruments they are designed to build
balanced bodies and bright brains.

Tots in Motion - Dance for the Under 5's
Tots in Motion is a magical dance experience for under 5's to
explore various ways of moving their body. Each session will be
filled with fun ways to learn dance through popular themes, using a
variety of props and visual aids.

Lets get Rock Moving with a 'Chance to Dance'
If you would like the opportunity to increase flexibility, build
strength and learn dance sequences to music from past and present,
incorporating moves inspired by rock ‘n’ roll and salsa dance, look
no further!
Dance classes run by DanceFEST for men and women over 55 take place
at Rock Village Hall and at Areley Kings Village Hall.
Face Britain
The Prince’s Foundation for children and the
Arts Charity has launched project Face Britain to encourage
youngsters ages 4 to 16 to create a self-portrait in any style and
upload it to the Face Britain online gallery. It will then be part
of a special portrait of the Queen will be projected on to
Buckingham Palace.

The Severn Valley Samba Band

Venue: Meet at Areley Kings Village Hall
Dates: Sunday mornings around 10 am to
12 noon, these times are subject to slight change.
Cost: Your first session will be FREE. Thereafter
it will be £3 per adult and £2 per child. All proceeds are
reinvested into the arts programme in the hall. All equipment
supplied.

Kings Village Hall has plenty of parking and you can find

The workshops are open to anyone over 8 years old and of any
ability, no musical knowledge is required - just plenty of
enthusiasm!

The Severn Valley Samba Band are part of a partnership between
'Arts in the Hall' and Wyre Forest District Council. Come
along to these friendly workshops and use a wide range of
instruments, learn how to make an unforgettable sound, make new
friends and have great fun all at the same time.

their own instruments and have professional tutors visit weekly to
help you develop your skills. Severn Valley Samba Band are
