Sexual Orientation Equality

The key challenges for Wyre Forest District Council in respect of promoting equality and challenging discrimination for lesbian, gay and bisexual people are:
  • Addressing prejudice
  • Addressing homophobic abuse
  • Access to information, support and services
  • Becoming an employer of choice
  • Clarifying and implementing an approach to monitoring

The Equality and Diversity Officer supports individuals who have experienced discrimination, bullying or harassment for many different reasons, including their sexual orientation. They can provide guidance and support, and signpost people to individuals or organisations who can provide specialist advice. We are also keen to hear from people who can suggest ways in which the Council can better deliver its services to Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual people.
