Community Sports Coach Scheme
Through partnership working with The Sports
Partnership-Herefordshire and Worcestershire and Sports Coach UK, Wyre Forest
District Council employs a full time Community Sports Coach who
delivers multi-skills and multi-sports sessions in a variety
of venues including schools, parks, community clubs and
youth houses.
Multi-Skills and Multi-Sports
The CSC delivers curriculum and extra curricular
multi-skills and multi-sports sessions as part of their
delivery and the new sportivate plan. This aims to
increase the number of children and young people participating
in the 5 hour offer for Physical Activity and Sport per week.
The sessions consist of fun activities which are aimed at improving
a child's long term athlete development by focusing on their A, B,
Cs (Agility, Balance, Co-ordination).
Jumping Jaxx Leadership Programme
Throughout the Wyre Forest the Community Sport
Coach also delivers the nationally recognised Jumping Jaxx
Leadership Programme. The CSC teaches children in Year 5 essential
leadership skills as well as numerous play ground games. After the
four week programme the ‘play leaders’ are able to gain a greater
sense of responsibility, develop their leadership skills and
ultimately increase their confidence levels.

Leadership Programme please email Sports
