Wyre Forest District Council along
with Worcestershire County Council, Malvern Hills District Council
and Wychavon District Council supported Real Nappy Week 2011 by
hosting a 'Real Nappy Picnic & Family Fun Day'
on May 21st, with help from Honeybees Natural Nursery
Store and Letswasteless.com the waste
reduction site for Herefordshire & Worcestershire
Lot's of people joined us last
year on May 21st at Worcester Woods Country Park from
11am-1pm, some were new to real nappies, others were
experienced users; the aim of the day was to celebrate cloth
nappies and those families that use them and to help show
parents-to-be and new parents how easy they are to use and how much
money they can save by using them (not to mention helping the
environment by not sending all those disposables to landfill!).

For anyone wanting to do a bit extra for the environment,
or save a few pennies for themselves, real nappies are an excellent
alternative to disposable nappies. Go Real - the Real Nappy
Information Service can provide you with a 'one stop shop for all
your nappy needs'. Below, and on our
Real Nappy FAQ's page, you'll find a condensed version of all
the information available to help you make an informed
decision. |
What are real nappies?
|
Real nappies are a practical, easy to use,
washable alternative to disposable nappies that are more
environmentally friendly and cost effective than disposable ones.
They come in a range of materials, funky colours and designs and
most are shaped like a disposable with velcro, popper or
plastic-gripper fastenings - not a pin in sight! They wash and dry
easily and quickly without the need for soaking or boiling.
You may also hear real nappies being referred to as reusable
nappies, cloth nappies, non-disposable nappies and washable
nappies. Real nappies are designed to be used on multiple
occasions, some from birth to potty training. |
